ISBU Shipping Container House Plans - 2

Container Home Plans, Designs, and Drawings…

Types Of Shipping Container Home Plans

Container Home designs are very unique due to the obvious factor, unlike other type housing, a Container home already has it's complete structure, ...walls, floor, and roof.                                                                                                                                                                                      [Graphic:GreenCube Research] Container homes are created using ISBU modules. An ISBU module may be a recycled Shipping Container, or it may be a newly manufactured ISBU module specifically for the construction of homes, shelters, or storage units. Because a Container Home has this structure built in, most home design software programs will not create the perfect Container Home design or plans needed for construction. The present home design software only offer designs using wood, concrete, and SIPS. There are one or two brands of Container Home software available to specifically create Container Home plans, however they are much too difficult to use and have never become popular with the public or professionals. NOTE: To design your own Shipping Container Homes, whether using one ISBU module or twenty ISBU modules, 160 sq/ft homes cabins or 8,000 sq/ft mansions, please login to our Member website for the free easy-to-use Container Home Design Software, Templates, and Tutorials. Before You Contact An Architect

Always know what you want before contacting and Architect. Architects don't know what you want, they only help you take the design you want and make it feasible.

Know What You Want

One of the most frequent comments we hear from our Member Architects is that the majority of customers have no idea what they want to build. That wastes time and money for both the Architect and also you, the Client. Even if you don't know the exact design you want for your Container Home, you can at least know some essential home basics, ... • how many bedrooms - how many baths - basic 'Eco-Green' features - the basic exterior - whether the rustic container exterior, a conventional home exterior, or some combination of both - and basic roof type, etc. There are many examples of Homes on the Internet that will give you ideas for your house design. Even if you find a home, cabin, or shed that isn't an actual Container Home design, most any competent Architect can quickly modify the rooms and dimensions to create your Container Home dream.

Design Your Own Home w/Free Software

Although you may not be a skilled designer you can create a basic example of what you want. Either on a piece of graph paper with a pencil and ruler, or use some of the easy-to-use 3D Home Design software available in stores or online. Before you purchase a DIY 2D & 3D Home Design program, we suggest you login to our Member website to try some of the 'Free' software and designs. What is 2D Software? What is 3D Software?

The 2D view means two dimensional. It is the view from the top that shows the shape and size of the home and often includes the example furnishing and a 3D floor plan. (see below left)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               [Graphics: GreenCube Research] 3D view means a three dimensional drawing that looks more realistic and often showing a 360 degree view also. (see above right)

ISBU Compatible Plans

Not all plans available on the Internet are ISBU Module compatible. Additionally, not all Container Home plans are not constructed with 100% ISBU Modules. Some plans and designs are constructed with only ISBU Modules, but others may be plans and designs that are ISBU integrated, meaning they are part ISBU Modules and part some other building material. Showing Detail: Certainly the professional Architectural Drawings will show the actual ISBU Module detail in the walls, etc., but your DIY drawings or preliminary drawings should also show the ISBU Module details when you are playing with your designs. From the very beginning it is best to include the ISBU Module details as it is integrated into your Container Home plans and designs. (see examples below) A basic, or preliminary ISBU compatible house plan should include these very necessary features: 1) All floors should be at the proper 'raised' level as an actual ISBU Module. 2) The walls should include the actual 'layers' and detail as you are designing. 3) The ISBU Module frame should be shown in the connecting walls so you don't forget to plan for      those joints. 4) The ISBU Module wall detail is also important in your base plan especially if you integrating only      a few ISBU into a standard home plan or design. Except for this main points a Container home, shed, or shelter will generally contain the same insulation, electrical, flooring, plumbing, windows and doors as a conventional structure. The examples below show the difference between a DIY or preliminary drawing. with and without the ISBU wall details. Please notice the enlargements and how much easier it is to understand the actual layers and dimensions of the Example plan 'A'.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      [Graphics: GreenCube Research]                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                [Graphics: GreenCube Research] Graphics show Shipping Container Home plans with ISBU Module wall details in 2D and 3D enlargements.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              [Graphics: GreenCube Research] NEXT:    Container Home Plans- 3 What Is Included When You Buy Container House Plans    Container Home Plans- 1 About Container House Plans And Drawings
